Content object
From TechWriter Wiki
The term content object is typically used to refer to any unit of information in a content management system. It may be a traditional (for example, Microsoft Word) document, or a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation or Excel file, but increasingy may be a multimedia object such as an image, video clip, or sound file.
Some content management systems will split objects down to the smallest reusable object - for example a single slide within a PowerPoint presentation, or a single paragraph within a document. The purpose of this is to better facilitate reuse of the individual parts of the original object.
