LMS

Acronym for Learning Management System, a software application that manages all aspects of training delivery. An LMS will typically provide some or all of the following functionality:
- Content development, and/or the ability to import pre-built content;
- A content repository;
- Delivery of training on-line via a virtual classroom;
- Scheduling of training courses;
- Inviting trainees and recording attendance;
- Attendee testing (and possibly pre-testing) and the recording of the results;
- Reporting on all of the above.
