Question types: Multiple Response
From TechWriter Wiki
Multiple Response questions are similar to Multiple Choice questions with the exception that more than one of the provided answers are (or may be) correct. The user is asked a question and is required to select all answers that apply. The possible answers in a Multiple Response question are often indicated (at least on-line) by check boxes (versus option buttons) to suggest that there is more than one correct choice.
Multiple Response questions are often used in place of Multiple Choice questions for testing purposes, as there are more permutations of possible answers (with five possible answers, there are 27 possible combinations), which reduces the possibility of users 'guessing' the correct answer(s). A common source of confusion with Multiple Response questions is how to grade them - does the user get one mark for each correct answer, for a total of (for example) five marks if they correctly indicate which of the five possible answers are correct and which are incorrect, allowing them to get some mark if they got four out of the five correct? However, given that the purpose of the (testing) question is to validate the user's knowledge, the user should be marked in full for getting the answers completely correct, and receive no mark if any of the answers are incorrect.
