Symposium
From TechWriter Wiki
Symposium is a 'virtual classroom' application.
- Can use this to deliver remote training across a company Intranet.
- Can pre-load material to user's desktop, or stream it live during the session
- Can show PowerPoint, .wmf, .avi, etc.
- Has the usual virtual classroom stuff (raising hands, etc.)
- Can 'share' (call up) any application on the trainer's desktop.
- Can have co-presenters.
- Can have tests: done at end of course, or mid-course. Participants may or may not have feedback.
- Can have 'on-the-fly' questions, and also yes/no questions, mid-course - build when needed, very easy.
- All attendees/trainers need to be defined and assigned userids/passwords.
- Can batch attendees into 'groups' (for example, for break-out sessions).
- Can bulk-load employee lists from .csv files (e.g. Excel) - good if can download from personnel system.
- Can assign grouping in .csv file
- Setting up an 'event' is very easy - just select users, content and time
Symposium is developed by Centra.
